This very special 20th issue of Phase 7 served as a companion volume to my book, Basewood. The first 24 pages include all of the lyrics to the rock opera reinterpretation of Basewood by Andy Hentz and myself, called Songs From the Basewood. You can stream all eighteen tracks from SFTBW and four B-Sides on this issue's archive page.

The remaining 44 pages of the issue documents "The Making of Basewood." This includes outlines, scripts, character sketches, building designs, reference photographs, inking tests, cover designs and many more materials from the creation of Basewood.

In January of 2009 I took my first trip to Europe, to attend the Angoulême International Comics Festival. I built a sketchbook just for the trip and filled it with comics about my trip, the festival and some of the differences I noticed between life in Europe and life back here in the U.S. It also features drawings by some of the new friends I made in France and Belgium!
